HOW
IT WORKS:
Sidereal receives both PUBLIC and one-to-one
transactions from government and commercial sources. Public transactions
consist mainly of Request for Quotations (RFQs) in ANSI X.12 format.
Sidereal sorts the RFQs by Federal Supply Classifications (FSC) codes and
then selects the appropriate RFQs based on the subscriber's pre-selected FSC
codes and places the RFQs into the subscriber's electronic mailbox for
retrieval.
Using Sidereal's supplied PC software, the
subscriber simply executes a mouse click to retrieve the contents of the
mailbox which is then transmitted at a high speed to the subscriber's PC and
placed on the subscriber's hard drive.
The Sidereal supplied PC Software translates
the X.12 formatted EDI RFQs and allows the subscriber to perform functions
such as:
A. View the RFQ(s)
B. Print the RFQ(s)
C. Respond to the RFQ with a Quotation
If the subscriber elects to respond to the RFQ,
he/she simply fills in the variable information for the RFQ such as price(s)
and delivery date(s). With a mouse click, the Quotation is delivered to
Sidereal and forwarded to the appropriate purchasing office.
If the subscriber's quotation is accepted by
the purchaser, a purchase order will be forwarded to the subscriber's EDI
mailbox from the appropriate purchasing office.
