services. The products that Sidereal provide allow concurrent full
duplex messaging via multiple ports on numerous public and private wide
area networks including, E-Mail, Telex, ARINC, AUTODIN, AFTN, DMS, NLETS,
and numerous others. Sidereal also provides electronic data interchange
(EDI) products and services for commercial and government networks
including FACNET.
Founded in 1971, Sidereal began business by leasing
Telex terminals. Four years later, Sidereal introduced the Micronet 1.
First to consolidate Telex, TWX and DDD services in a single terminal,
the Micronet 1 inaugurated a new era in telecommunications terminal
technology, and established Sidereal Corporation as an industry leader.
Sidereal is headquartered in Springfield, Virginia. Sidereal is a
private Virginia corporation. It's corporate offices are also
located in Springfield. Sidereal employs a professional staff throughout
the United States located at its facility in Beaverton, Oregon (a suburb
of Portland) and its headquarters in Springfield, Virginia.
The principals of the company include:
Mel Hall, the President has over 24 years of experience in the computer
and telecommunications industry including 22 years of successful sales
and management experience. He has a thorough understanding of government
contracting and sales strategies including GSA schedule negotiations,
proposal preparation and developing and closing competitive bids. He has
lectured around the country about FACNET and EC/EDI and has
distinguishing himself as an expert in the field. Prior to becoming
president of Sidereal Corporation, he was the Director of Government
Operations and Manager of Sidereal's Washington, D. C. office. A cum
laude graduate of Virginia State, he holds a B. S. in Chemistry and
began his career with Honeywell Federal Systems Operations, Inc. as a
Systems Analyst.
